Hunting Information:

• Behavior: Sable bulls are territorial and often solitary or found leading small groups of females. They are confident, bold, and will often stand their ground when threatened—making them both majestic and dangerous when wounded.

• Adaptations: Their dark coloration provides excellent camouflage in woodland and savanna habitats. Bulls develop their signature black coats as they mature, making it easier to identify a trophy animal.

• Preferred Habitat: Sables prefer open woodlands, grassy savannas, and areas near water sources. They are most active during early mornings and late afternoons, resting in shaded areas during the heat of the day.

• Hunting Tips: Spot and stalk is highly effective, especially when glassing from elevated areas. Tracking is another exciting method, as mature bulls often leave distinct spoor. Aim for a vital shot behind the shoulder—Sables are tough and known for covering distance when wounded.
